The Invest in Tomorrow Coalition, a super PAC created to defeat clean-energy opponents, has set its sights on Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee. According to Canary Media, this marks the group's first Democratic target, following earlier campaigns against three Republicans. The move underscores the PAC's stated willingness to challenge politicians from either party who it sees as obstacles to clean energy.

The super PAC's origins trace back to last summer, when a Republican-controlled Congress moved to dismantle parts of the Inflation Reduction Act. Founder Tom Matzzie was angered by the near-unanimous Republican votes against wind and solar tax credits, despite some members having written letters in support of them. The two reports agree on the PAC's mission and tactics, with the Rhode Island development simply extending that strategy into new political territory.
