Commenters also disagreed about electricity costs. Some said rising rates could erode the savings from EVs, while the article's author counters that home solar and batteries let owners "own the refinery" and lock in energy costs. The overall picture is less a clean price threshold and more a mix of stubbornness, household economics, and expectations.
