Tesla is putting its Cybercab on public display in China this week. The company, however, is trying to manage expectations: this showcase is not an announcement of a local launch.
According to Electrek, Tesla China said the event "does not involve" selling the Cybercab in the Chinese market or launching a driverless robotaxi service. In other words, the display is just that — a display.
This clarification sets clear boundaries around what the exhibit is meant to do. The report gives no indication of regulatory approval, pricing, or timing for a future introduction in China, leaving the Cybercab's commercial status there unchanged for now.
