AWS has introduced the Well-Architected Agent, a tool that applies its Well-Architected Framework to customer cloud environments. The agent evaluates workloads across more than 65 AWS services and produces recommendations aimed at improving cost, security, performance, and resilience.
According to AWS, the agent generates recommendations aligned with declared business goals, provides implementation packages, and surfaces trade-offs between pillars. It can also attach specific dollar impacts to individual resource findings and supply Infrastructure as Code changes needed to align with best practices.
The Register notes that IT professionals may be cautious about AIOps suggestions, and vendors expect users to verify recommendations before granting agents more autonomy. The agent is currently available in three US regions and requires an AWS support plan, though it can analyze workloads in any commercial region.
