Bambu Lab has officially teased its first 3D scanner, the S1, with a planned release in November 2026. No product details have been announced, but FCC filings and Bambu Lab's partnership with SCANOLOGY have fueled speculation about the scanner's capabilities and underlying technology.
The filings reportedly show a label with a 60W-rated input and no battery, leading some to believe the S1 will need to be connected to a PC to operate. Drawings also suggest a flat spot and handle top that could accommodate a screen, similar to SCANOLOGY's 3DeVOK MT Gen2, a wired composite scanner using blue and IR lasers that launched in 2026.
However, the 3DeVOK MT Gen2 is priced at $8,299, which makes a shared platform less likely if Bambu Lab intends to keep the S1 affordable. 3D scanning remains a niche market, with existing options from Creality, Revopoint, and SHINING3D, and the source notes that the 60W rating alone does not confirm shared technology with Scanology.
