The Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) hosted the autumn hackathon of the Trillion Parameter Consortium from Sept. 9-11. EuroTPC, the consortium's European organization, arranged the event, which attracted more than 30 researchers from leading supercomputing centers in Europe and the US.

The hackathon was aimed at the AI-for-science community, according to the announcement. The consortium's work centers on trillion-parameter models, a scale of AI that demands close collaboration among high-performance computing sites.

Holding the event at LRZ gives researchers access to one of Europe's major supercomputing facilities and reinforces the transatlantic ties that the consortium is building around large-scale scientific AI.
