A federal jury in Texas has ruled that Bambu Lab's X1, P1, and A1 series of 3D printers infringe two Stratasys patents. The verdict covers technologies related to prime towers and automatic bed leveling, and it orders Bambu Lab to pay $27.6 million in damages to Stratasys.
The case centers on features used in Bambu Lab's consumer and prosumer printers. Stratasys argued that these features were developed and patented by the company, and the jury agreed. The award is limited to the three product lines named in the suit.
Bambu Lab has not yet indicated whether it will appeal. The verdict adds another chapter to the ongoing patent disputes in the 3D printing industry, where larger incumbents often clash with newer entrants.
