KPMG is cutting roughly 4 percent of its UK workforce, about 200 positions, with the deepest reductions in AI, Cyber, SAP, and Testing teams. Staff were told on October 1 that the collective consultation had formally ended, and that those selected for redundancy would be notified by email on October 9.

The Register has seen a message in which KPMG says it is offering £100 in exchange for employees' existing contractual confidentiality and other post-termination obligations. Sources interpret this as asking workers to waive their legal rights to appeal or bring claims. One insider called the approach "arrogant and disgraceful," particularly because it comes before the holidays and while annual bonuses are withheld.

KPMG has not communicated about 2026 bonuses, but anyone under notice is not eligible for a payout. The firm declined to answer questions about the £100 payment or bonus policy, instead repeating a statement about adapting to market dynamics. The cuts follow a separate redundancy of 600 UK roles six months earlier.
