Creative director Mike Lacher has released a browser-based parody called Triple-A Minesweeper, reimagining the classic Windows game as a big-budget production. The page opens with a familiar Windows 95-style icon, but double-clicking triggers a cinematic intro with logos from Unreal Engine, Nvidia, and other typical AAA middleware before the title appears.

The game itself is a single round of Minesweeper wrapped in sci-fi dialogue. A handler named Nora calls the player 'Sweeper,' an antagonist called The Don leaves voice messages, and side characters like Clyde and Dr. K chime in. An internal monologue repeatedly says 'Time's wasting. Better sweep these mines.' The game even marks safe squares with a yellow highlight, and if you hit a mine, you get a red damage marker instead of a game over.

According to Tom's Hardware, the parody is aimed at modern games that hold the player's hand and fill dead air with chatter. The creator promises loot boxes and brand integrations arriving in Q1 of next year. After the single round, rolling credits appear, and a twist at the end hints at a sequel. The source notes it's unclear whether AI was used to build it.
