Walmart is selling MSI's Codex Z2C prebuilt gaming desktop for $999, a $600 reduction from its $1,599.99 list price. The system is aimed at 1080p gaming and pairs an 8-core Ryzen 7 8700F with an RTX 5060 Ti 8GB graphics card, which Tom's Hardware says can also handle 1440p with reasonable settings.
The machine comes with 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Its MSI Pro B840-VC WiFi motherboard uses the AM5 socket and includes four DDR5 slots and two M.2 slots, so buyers can upgrade components later without replacing the whole system.
Tom's Hardware reports that Walmart has already sold over 500 units in a single day, indicating strong demand. For shoppers with a sub-$1,000 budget, this prebuilt is positioned as one of the better current values for 1080p gaming, though inventory is said to be moving quickly.
