Nvidia's Huang: Doubling Chip Sales, China Lithography by 2030
In separate remarks, Jensen Huang projected strong near-term demand and predicted China's advanced chipmaking tools within four years.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang made two distinct forecasts this week, according to separate reports. In comments covered by CNBC, he said the company will sell twice as many chips next year, pointing to continued massive growth over the next six quarters. This suggests strong near-term demand for Nvidia's AI hardware.
Separately, in an interview reported by Tom's Hardware, Huang said China will develop its own advanced lithography tooling by 2030. He estimated a three- to four-year timeline for that capability and stated that China is "already there" in terms of intent and progress. Huang framed the achievement as "just a matter of time," reflecting a longer-term view of global semiconductor supply.
The two remarks are independent — one about immediate commercial scale, the other about long-term geopolitical technology shifts. They do not directly contradict, but they highlight different aspects of Huang's outlook: bullish near-term sales and a pragmatic acceptance of China's eventual self-sufficiency in chipmaking tools.
