Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine has no PC version in the works, but PC gamers are getting an early look through the experimental KytyPS5 emulator. According to Tom's Hardware, the latest build can now render the game's cinematics and gameplay, a big step up from earlier builds that could only boot the title and let users navigate menus. The catch is that it runs at single-digit frame rates, which is a long way from making the action game playable outside a PS5 or PS5 Pro.

KytyPS5 is still in early development, and its creators are focused on getting more games to boot rather than making a few titles run flawlessly. The emulator uses Vulkan 1.3 for graphics output and an in-house system to decode the PS5's RDNA 2 GPU instructions. It is available for Windows and Linux, with a more experimental macOS version in the works.

Separately, another PS5 emulator called SharpEmu has hit a milestone of its own: its developers have gotten six of 55 tested games to run at a playable 60 FPS, with another six reaching gameplay at lower frame rates. That progress is modest, but together with KytyPS5's recent gains it suggests PS5 emulation on PC is advancing quickly, even if it is not ready for prime time. The source notes that the frame rate situation likely says more about the emulator's maturity than about the game itself.
