The Sandisk NAS 800 is a PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD aimed at NAS appliances and high-end workstations. In a review of the 1.92TB model, Tom's Hardware calls it the premier NVMe SSD for NAS, citing high endurance, strong sustained writes, and excellent 4KB random latencies. The drive is built on the same platform as the Optimus GX Pro 8100 (formerly WD Black SN8100), with extra overprovisioning and a higher TBW rating.

The 1.92TB model is rated for 3,500TBW, and the 7.68TB version goes up to 14,000TBW, roughly three times the endurance of typical consumer drives. Sequential performance is up to 14,900 MB/s read and 13,200 MB/s write, with random read/write up to 2,300K/2,100K IOPS. The drive also supports TCG Opal self-encryption and comes with a five-year warranty.

The main drawback is price. At $699.99 for the 1.92TB model, the NAS 800 costs roughly 45-65% more than the WD Black SN8100's street price, and 27-29% more than the Optimus GX Pro 8100. The review also notes below-average power efficiency, with an active draw of 7.52W. For buyers who need sustained write endurance in a NAS, the premium may be justified, but for general desktop use, cheaper alternatives make more sense.
