At its second Kaleidoscope conference in Las Vegas, 8am announced a series of AI and financial products, but the new AI capabilities are limited to its MyCase platform. The company also introduced a Claude MCP connector, which it claims is the first built specifically for legal practice management, enabling users to query case data, download documents, and check invoices from within Claude.
The company also previewed 8am IQ Firm Agent, an extension of the existing Case Assistant that will let firm leaders ask questions across all MyCase data, such as profitability by practice area or a morning brief across matters. It remains a prototype, with beta expected by mid-October and general availability in December. Separately, 8am IQ Draft generates document templates from scratch or from existing documents and auto-populates them with case details, then opens them in a MyCase web editor for final review.
On the financial side, 8am announced Smart Spend Intelligence, which categorizes transactions to cases, and 8am Capital, a law firm loan program available through LawPay. The company framed the releases as part of an ongoing "8am Showcase" series. Notably, the MCP connector uses Claude while MyCase's native AI runs on OpenAI models, so results may differ and the connector lacks the citation links included in the native Firm Agent.
