Google has removed at least two Times of London articles from search results after a DMCA complaint alleged they violated copyright in an OnlyFans page. The articles concern Mason Soiza, a British businessman, including a story headlined "Mason Soiza: spammer with a gold Lamborghini." According to Reason's report, the copyright claim appears not to be accurate, yet Google deindexed the articles anyway.

The complaint targeted specific Times URLs, including pieces about an inquiry into online sales of painkillers and a business profile of Soiza. Reason notes that the Times could respond with a DMCA counternotification and get the matter reconsidered, but it may be unaware that its articles were removed. Searches for Soiza's name or exact article headlines still surface other items that link to the Times pieces, but not the articles themselves.

The same DMCA complaint also named a 2018 Reason post about a forged U.K. court order aimed at vanishing a Soiza article. That post, the magazine reports, has not been removed from Google's search results. The episode illustrates how copyright takedown procedures can affect major journalism even when the underlying claim is doubtful.
