Lexeo Therapeutics has agreed to acquire Mantle Therapeutics with an upfront payment of $8.3 million. The deal is aimed at expanding Lexeo's portfolio in Friedreich ataxia, a rare inherited condition that affects coordination and heart function.
As part of the acquisition, Lexeo is also locking in three strategic collaborations designed to support its lead Friedreich ataxia asset. The announcement does not specify the identities of the collaborators or the terms of those arrangements.
The move reflects Lexeo's broader effort to strengthen its position in the FA space. Adding Mantle's assets could complement its existing pipeline, while the new collaborations may provide additional support for advancing its lead program.
