Roche and Dualitas team up to screen 300,000 bispecific combos
A deal worth up to $1 billion will let Roche tap Dualitas' high-throughput screening platform for new immunology and inflammation therapies.
Roche has entered a research collaboration with Dualitas Therapeutics, paying $36.5 million upfront to screen a vast library of bispecific antibody combinations. The partnership is focused on discovering new treatments for immunology and inflammation diseases, with Dualitas tasked with sifting through over 300,000 possible pairings.
Both Fierce Biotech and BioPharma Dive report the same headline figures: the deal could be worth up to $1 billion in total, including milestones beyond the initial payment. The two outlets agree on the scope and intent of the screening drive, and neither notes any disagreement on the terms.
What stands out is the scale of the search. Bispecific antibodies are designed to bind two different targets at once, and screening hundreds of thousands of combinations gives Roche a broad net for finding candidates that might otherwise be missed. No specific disease targets or expected timelines have been disclosed, but the deal underscores Roche's interest in expanding its immunology pipeline through high-throughput discovery.
