Teladoc Health has added two AI capabilities to its Solo virtual care platform: SoloVitals, a contactless vital-sign monitoring tool, and SoloScribe, an ambient AI documentation feature. SoloScribe is available now, while SoloVitals is in private preview for select customers and is expected to be released broadly in December.

SoloVitals uses cameras on Solo devices to capture patients' facial skin color and applies an optical technique to track heart and respiratory rates without physical contact. SoloScribe records and transcribes clinical encounters, for both in-person and virtual visits, and creates notes for clinicians. The Solo platform already supports e-consultations, virtual nursing, and patient observation, pulling data from EHRs, cameras, and tablets into analytics dashboards for care teams.

Teladoc says integrating these features into one platform can reduce point-solution fatigue. Joby McKenzie, general manager of North American Health Systems at Teladoc, said health systems are under intense pressure to do more while spending more time navigating a growing number of platforms, tools, and vendors. The company also needs a boost: it reported a net loss of $200.3 million in 2025 and cut its 2026 revenue outlook in July to $2.36B-$2.45B, down 5% from earlier guidance, primarily because of its mental health division, BetterHelp. CEO Chuck Divita said demand outstripped BetterHelp's capacity, and the division added 2,000 more insurance-credentialed providers.
