Early detection of cognitive decline in older adults remains a challenge because standard neuropsychological assessments demand significant time and expertise. This resource burden limits how widely such screening can be deployed, especially in routine or community settings.

The preprint proposes chatbot-based Intelligent Cognitive Assistants (ICAs) as a scalable alternative. By using conversational AI, these assistants could potentially ease the load on clinicians while still addressing the need for early screening of perceived cognitive decline.

As an arXiv preprint, this work has not yet undergone peer review, and the abstract does not include details on the ICA's design, performance, or validation. The contribution at this stage is the rationale for pursuing conversational AI as a more scalable screening tool.
