Computational models written in .NET often need to run inside web applications, but that typically requires rewriting them for the browser. A new arXiv preprint describes the Backend–Frontend Converter, an architecture designed to generate TypeScript implementations of such models directly from their .NET origins.
The converter works with component-based models, meaning it breaks the model into components that can be translated individually. The abstract does not give implementation details, but the goal is clear: produce TypeScript code that runs locally in the browser without a backend.
Because the source is only a short abstract, specifics about the conversion process, supported .NET features, or performance are not yet available. Still, the approach addresses a common pain point for developers who want to reuse existing .NET computational logic on the front end.
