World models must cope with the fact that a single observation can lead to several plausible futures. The authors of the new arXiv preprint argue that uncertainty is therefore essential to world modelling, yet quantum generative models have remained underexplored for this task.
To fill that gap, they introduce Quantum-JEPA, a latent-action approach for JEPA world models. The method uses quantum Born priors, which the authors position as a way to account for the uncertainty in possible futures that follow from an observation.
As described in the abstract, the contribution is the proposal itself: applying quantum generative modelling to latent-action JEPA world models. The preprint is available on arXiv under identifier 2610.27921.
