F5 and Juniper Networks have each released security patches addressing critical vulnerabilities in their products. The updates are part of routine maintenance but carry particular urgency because of the severity of the issues.
According to SecurityWeek, successful exploitation of some of these flaws could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code remotely and take complete control of an affected device. That level of access would enable further compromise of the surrounding network.
Organisations using affected F5 or Juniper equipment should review the respective advisories and apply the updates as soon as possible. As with any critical patch, delaying deployment increases the window in which attackers could exploit known weaknesses.
