Grafana Labs has announced a Knowledge Graph in every Grafana Cloud stack, alongside new Digital Experience Monitoring capabilities and updates to its Incident Response Management. The release is designed to connect infrastructure and application dependencies with user experience, giving both human responders and AI agents a shared context for investigating problems. The company says the graph is built on open standards and works with agents teams already use, not only Grafana's own.
According to the 2026 State of Observability Report from Grafana Labs and ETR, the most common maturity stage among the 300 IT and engineering leaders surveyed (30%) is being able to explain unexpected system behavior but not detect and prevent issues before users are affected. The Knowledge Graph aims to close that gap by linking telemetry from databases, services, Kubernetes clusters, and frontend monitoring into a shared model. New capabilities include custom entities, a service catalog with ownership, and a Cypher query feature that lets agents retrieve relationships flexibly.
The Digital Experience Monitoring updates extend visibility to the browser and mobile devices. Session Replay is in public preview, while Mobile Observability and Critical User Journeys are in private preview. The source quotes Grafana's Richard Lam as saying most teams do not have a monitoring problem but a technology debt problem, and LexisNexis's Neil Wilson as noting that the hardest part of an investigation is rarely a lack of data but connecting service ownership, dependencies, and customer impact. The article does not present contrasting views, as it is a single vendor announcement.
