Chrome's latest security update addresses 353 distinct vulnerabilities, according to SecurityWeek. The update is notable for the sheer volume of fixes, but the breakdown shows a clear pattern: the vast majority are memory-related bugs.
The two largest categories are memory corruption, with 163 fixes, and use-after-free, with 125 fixes. Together they make up more than 80 percent of the total vulnerabilities patched in this release.
Memory safety issues have long been a focus in browser security because they can lead to crashes or, in worse cases, be exploited to execute arbitrary code. The source does not provide additional detail on severity ratings or whether any of these flaws were actively exploited in the wild.
