Meshery, an open-source cloud-native manager for Kubernetes, aims to reduce the risk of bad configurations reaching production. It lets teams design clusters and applications on a visual canvas, then validates the design using Kubernetes' own dry-run mode. This simulated deployment reports invalid resources, missing fields, and version conflicts before anything touches a live cluster. The same check can be wired into CI/CD pipelines so faulty changes fail early.

Beyond validation, Meshery maps how components connect—such as pods mounting volumes or ingresses routing to services—and applies configuration rules using Open Policy Agent. Users do not need to write OPA's Rego query language. When connected to a GitHub repository, Meshery posts infrastructure snapshots into pull requests, giving reviewers a clearer view of what a change will do before merging.

Access control is handled through workspaces, which group designs and govern who can reach each environment, along with associated connections and credentials. The tool supports more than 380 integrations and offers a public catalog of over 220 ready-made designs. It is available for free on GitHub and can run inside or outside a cluster, with support for major cloud providers and local Kubernetes distributions.
