Ontinue has introduced ION for Dark Web Monitoring, a managed add-on to its ION MXDR service. The offering continuously watches customer-owned domains and brand assets across clear, deep, and dark web sources for exposed credentials, typosquatting domains, and brand impersonation campaigns.

Unlike traditional monitoring tools that produce raw alerts, the service validates and enriches findings through the ION SecOps Platform. Cyber Defense Center analysts investigate each finding, assess risk, and can execute approved response actions automatically or with customer oversight. This is meant to close the gap between receiving threat intelligence and actually acting on it.

Ontinue notes that exposed credentials can appear on the dark web within 24 hours, yet only 19% of organizations continuously monitor and automatically remediate such exposure. IDC research cited in the announcement says roughly one in three MDR customers globally still lack dark web monitoring as part of their service. The new module feeds findings directly into Microsoft Sentinel and ION workflows, extending visibility beyond the enterprise perimeter without adding another platform.
