X.Org has released updates that close 12 security vulnerabilities in the X server and Xwayland. The fixes are included in xorg-server 21.1.25 and xwayland-24.1.14, according to Help Net Security.

Nine of the flaws are serious enough to allow arbitrary code execution, while the remaining three can crash the server or disclose information. Users and administrators should update their X.Org packages promptly to reduce exposure.

The advisories cover a range of failure modes, but the majority are code-execution bugs, making this a high-priority patch set for systems running the X server or Xwayland.
