According to Platformer, the technology publication Every has created an AI clone of its editor in chief. The company built the agent from 30,000 copyedits, using the editor’s past revisions as training material for an automated editorial tool.
In an interview, Every CEO Dan Shipper describes an organization that is both expanding and automating. He says the company has doubled its headcount while automating much of its work. The AI clone is presented as one part of that broader approach to AI-assisted journalism.
Shipper also talks about what he calls the “dirty secret” of writing with AI. Platformer uses that phrase to frame a wider discussion of how AI tools are changing editorial production and the human role inside it.
