Apple has begun linking its Maps app to Hidden Histories podcast episodes for certain landmarks in five US cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and Washington, DC. The integration appears within the app's Guides section, where viewing a landmark's information now shows a panel that connects directly to a podcast about that location's past.
Tapping the panel opens an interface listing other landmarks in the same city that also have podcast guides. For example, New York's offerings include episodes on Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and Grand Central Terminal, while Los Angeles covers the Hollywood Sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and San Francisco includes Alcatraz and the Farallon Islands.
Like other Guides content, these podcast links can be saved by tapping the + icon, allowing users to revisit them later through the "Your Guides" section at the bottom of the Maps interface. The feature appears to be a quiet expansion of Apple's curated content offerings within Maps, blending navigation with local history and audio storytelling.
