Bose is discounting its original Ultra Open Earbuds to $199, a 33% reduction from the $299 list price. The deal matches the lowest price the product has reached, according to WIRED. The move comes just before Bose expands its open-ear lineup with two new models.

The original Ultra Open Earbuds, launched in 2024, helped bring clip-on open earbuds into the mainstream. While companies like Shokz had already sold open-ear and bone-conduction headphones, Bose's small, fashion-forward design gave the category wider visibility. The new Sport Open Earbuds and Ultra Open Earbuds 2nd Gen are set to launch October 1, making the price cut a likely inventory-clearing step.

The earbuds lack noise cancellation, which is intentional: they leave the ear canal open so wearers can stay aware of surroundings. WIRED recommends them for running and cycling, and calls them the best premium open earbuds in its guide. The lower price makes that premium positioning more accessible, but buyers should note that newer models are arriving within days.
