Google is rolling out Chrome features aimed at people researching complex topics across devices. The existing cross-device tab switching now remembers exactly where you scrolled on a page, so moving from phone to desktop no longer means hunting for your place in a long document. Half-filled forms are also preserved, letting users start on mobile and finish on desktop or vice versa.

Gemini in Chrome is expanding beyond documents, webpages, and YouTube videos to handle podcasts and videos hosted outside YouTube. According to Google, once you play an audio or video file, Gemini can identify key takeaways, find specific information, or clarify confusing moments. The integration can also generate interactive quizzes based on the content in your current tab, offering a new way to test knowledge.

The quiz feature is initially rolling out to users in the US and India on desktop in English, with broader availability on other regions and mobile devices expected in the coming months. Google positions these updates as study aids, but they also have clear implications for business users juggling research across multiple devices.
