Google's Health Guardian toolset, first announced with the Pixel Watch 5 last month, is now being delivered to compatible devices. The Google Health app will begin receiving the features this week, with the first trend reports scheduled for early October.

The initial rollout includes blood pressure trends, insulin resistance trends, and sleep breathing quality metrics for Pixel Watch 3, 4, and 5 owners, free of charge. In European countries, Pixel Watch 4 and 5 users will also gain Breathing Emergency Detection, which automatically contacts emergency services if the watch detects a severe drop in blood oxygen.

Fitbit Air owners with a Google Health Premium subscription will get access to the insulin resistance and blood pressure trends later this year, though no specific date has been given. The expansion adds a significant layer of health insight to Google's wearables and, as Engadget notes, should increase the Pixel Watch's appeal provided the tools work as intended.
