Razer has announced the Kiyo V2 Pro, a $300 webcam that upgrades its predecessor with 4K video at 60 frames per second. The device uses a Sony 8.3-megapixel STARVIS 2 sensor, the same component found in Elgato's latest 4K camera, paired with an f/1.9 lens for improved low-light performance and a stronger background blur. Razer also trimmed the field of view from 93 degrees to 86 degrees to maintain image quality and reduce fisheye distortion at the edges.
New AI features include auto-framing that pans, tilts, and zooms to keep the user in frame, as well as a one-click output enhancement that adjusts exposure, white balance, and noise based on the environment. The company says the camera can also capture ultra-high dynamic range to retain detail in varied lighting. For manual control, Razer Synapse software allows fine-tuning of ISO, shutter speed, and other settings.
The Pro model includes both a monitor/laptop clamp and a universal tripod mount, plus an integrated privacy shutter styled like a camera mechanism. It is available now from Razer.com and other retailers for $300. The release positions Razer to compete with dedicated video cameras and smartphone cameras that have been encroaching on the webcam market.
