Wyze has launched the Scale Ultra BodyScan Plus, a $149 smart scale that relocates its 4.3-inch color display to a retractable handle. The design change lets users read measurements at eye level rather than bending down. The new model is available in black or white from Wyze's online store, priced about $30 higher than the previous Ultra BodyScan.

The Plus model expands its health tracking from 13 body composition metrics to more than 50, including visceral fat, protein, and basal metabolic rate. Using bioelectrical impedance analysis, the scale can break down these readings across the arms, legs, and torso. It supports up to eight registered users, unlimited guest measurements, and a mode for weighing children, pets, or luggage while held.

Wyze is positioning the device against competitors that are moving toward paid services. The company notes that all features work without a subscription, while Withings recently required new users to pay an annual fee for third-party app syncing. The Wyze scale syncs data to Apple Health, Google Health, and Android's Health Connect via Bluetooth or directly over Wi-Fi, with no monthly or yearly charges.
