Priority Bicycles has turned its playful Sauce model into an electric bike, the E-Sauce, according to Electrek. The new version keeps the original's chunky tires, belt drive, and single-speed simplicity while adding a 750W rear hub motor and a throttle. It ships as a Class 2 e-bike capped at 20 mph, but pedal assist can be unlocked to 28 mph where regulations allow.

Priority pairs both torque and cadence sensing, a combination the report says is becoming more common. The torque sensor provides natural pedal response up to 20 mph, then the bike switches to cadence-based assistance above that speed, so riders can keep motor output without spinning excessively fast. The rest of the build carries over the Sauce's versatility: 27.5 x 2.4-inch tires, 100mm front suspension, rear rack mounts, a front Headway Mount, and integrated lighting with a seat-tube tail light.

At $2,199, the E-Sauce costs more than many direct-to-consumer 750W e-bikes, but Priority positions it as a low-maintenance, quality product from an established bicycle company. The Gates belt drive, hydraulic disc brakes, and utility features aim to make it a commuter, light cargo hauler, or trail bike. Electrek's review notes the original Sauce found a wider audience than expected, and the motorized version may broaden that appeal further.
