Walking just 3,000 steps a day may help slow Alzheimer’s-related brain changes, according to new research reported by ScienceDaily. The study found that physical activity was linked to less buildup of harmful tau proteins, a key marker of Alzheimer’s pathology.
The same analysis saw nearly half the cognitive and functional decline among more active participants. The findings suggest that a modest daily step goal could offer meaningful protection, though the report does not establish a direct causal relationship.
