Engadget has marked the 40th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie with a fresh re-review. The outlet's assessment is unambiguous: it calls the 1986 animated feature the greatest Transformers movie ever made, adding that it is not close.
The review treats the film as an enduring high point for the franchise, rather than just a nostalgic artifact. Because this is based on a single source, there is no differing viewpoint to weigh; the article presents one clear verdict.
For anyone tracking the business of entertainment nostalgia, the piece is a reminder that decades-old franchise titles can still command attention when anniversaries give media outlets a reason to revisit them.
