The Verge's latest buying guide points to a Best Buy promotion on Lenovo's Yoga Slim 7X as the current best value for a $1,000 Windows laptop. The recommendation is time-sensitive, with the deal lasting only for the rest of the day.
The device is a slim 14-inch model with a 2K 16:10 OLED touchscreen and is powered by Snapdragon's top-tier X2 Elite processor. That combination of display quality and performance is what makes it stand out at this price, according to the review.
The takeaway is that the Yoga Slim 7X sets a high bar for what buyers can expect at the $1,000 price point. Since this is a single source, the claim represents The Verge's assessment rather than a broad industry consensus.
