Chariot, a New York-based legal-tech startup, has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Silverton Partners. The company helps consumers pursue compensation for alleged privacy violations, hidden fees, and subscriptions that are difficult to cancel, using mass arbitration rather than class-action lawsuits. Total funding now stands at $15.7 million, including a $3.6 million seed round from April 2025.

The startup works with law firms to identify potential cases, find affected consumers, and gather evidence. Consumers complete an intake questionnaire, and Chariot reviews pre-qualified claims through a combination of technology and human oversight before sending them to partner firms. CEO Zim Hang says Chariot receives more than 200,000 claim submissions per month and has taken on roughly 80 cases since shifting to its current business model just over a year ago.

Chariot plans to use the new funding primarily for hiring and product development, including AI tools to review cases and assess whether consumers qualify to participate. The company is also developing features that would let users connect their email accounts so its software can search for relevant documents. The funding round comes as legal tech investment surges, with the sector on pace to match or exceed last year's record $4.6 billion total.
