GuliKit is making a value play in the Switch 2 accessory market. The TT Max, reviewed by Engadget's Jessica Conditt, is a wide, thick and heavy controller that sells for $70—$20 less than Nintendo's own Pro Controller. Despite the lower price, it comes with a long list of accessories, including extra stick caps, a keycap puller, tension tool, four back paddles, an extra D-pad, a wireless USB adapter and a molded hard case.
The controller's design is aimed at players who find Nintendo's pads too small. Engadget notes that it feels larger than the Pro Controller and 8BitDo's Ultimate 2, with Xbox-style ergonomics, aligned thumbsticks, adjustable tension, and textured grips. It also includes switchable D-pad modes, gyro support, customizable RGB lighting and three haptic modes, though the default HD vibration on Switch 2 can produce a grinding noise.
From a business standpoint, the TT Max shows how third parties are trying to undercut first-party accessories while adding features. GuliKit supports multiple platforms, including PC, Android and iOS, which extends the controller's useful life beyond a single console. Engadget rates it 9/10, calling it the granddaddy of Switch 2 controllers and a good fit for serious players with big hands.
